In December 2016, mathematician Bruno Klingler has been appointed Professor at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, after he had been holding professorships in the United States and France. His main research interests are the relations of the topology of varieties and their algebraic and arithmetic structures. As one of the most renowned mathematicians in the area of arithmetic geometry worldwide, Klinger is going to strengthen Berlin as a location for mathematics with his Einstein Professorship funded by the Damp Foundation.
