Beate Kampmann is a specialist for infectious diseases. She has been Head of the Institute for International Health at Charité since January 2023 and is also Scientific Director of the newly created Charité Center Global Health. Her central fields of research are tuberculosis in children, HIV co-infection and vaccinology. With her team, she has conducted laboratory and clinical studies to better understand age-related immune responses to infections and vaccinations. In recent years, she has led a number of studies in both England and West Africa to address the scientific and practical challenges of maternal immunization.
