Dieter Jaeger's neuroscientific research focuses on understanding information processing of basal ganglia and the cerebellum, hence, the core regions of the human brain, which are located underneath the cerebral cortex. As an Einstein Visiting Fellow, Dieter Jaeger conducts research at NeuroCure, Cluster of Excellence, and thereby focuses on studying the information flow from basal ganglia through the thalamus to the cortex. Research in this field contributes to a better understanding of motor disorders like Parkinson's disease. The fellowship is co-funded by the Damp Stiftung.
