No new kind of duck - would I know how to say what I do?
Lecture with Jan Verwoert, critic and writer on contemporary art and cultural theory, and Finissage of the biannual showcase of the Graduate School fellowship programme at the Berlin University of the Arts

“So you're an artist. What kind of art do you do?“, “You consider your art to be political. How so?“, “You make (or teach) art. What knowledge does that give you?“ - What if there were no short easy answers, but people kept asking? In his talk, critic and professor of art theory, Jan Verwoert, will address what it means to live with the fact that these questions keep haunting you when art is what you do. The lecture marks the Finissage of the biannual showcase of the Graduate School fellowship programme at the Berlin University of the Arts in venues around the Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz (20th-23rd Oct). It celebrates the release of the publication No new kind of duck (Diaphanes 2016) by the Graduate School. This book won't duck the questions: What if art is not a craft (or con) but a way of being in the world today? How to touch the real, in doing art, when reality is twisted?
