Somatosensory virtual reality for brain research

As part of his Einstein research project on mice, York Winter from the Humboldt University in Berlin is investigating how the brain develops representations of the environment. The professor of cognitive neurobiology is taking advantage of the fact that rodents perceive their environment mainly through their whiskers and that each hair has a 1:1 relationship with a section of the brain.
