Algorithmic Linear Algebra: High Performance Computing, Numerical Stability and Fault Tolerance

In addition to theory and experiment, there is a "third pillar" of science: model-based simulations. However, these simulations are often time-consuming. The "Algorithmic Linear Algebra" research project therefore aims to improve the exchange of data between processors. To this end, a team of mathematicians from the TU Berlin and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem have joined forces to develop numerically stable algorithms.
