Microscopic study of carbon-based hybrid nanostructures

In this project, the Technische Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin, the Max Born Institute and the Fritz Haber Institute are cooperating to research the optical and electronic properties of carbon-based hybrid nanostructures that are largely unknown to date. The focus of the project is on the development of a novel theoretical approach that combines density matrix theory with density functional theory, thereby enabling microscopic investigations of a variety of hybrid structures.
