Malek Bajbouj is Professor of Psychiatry and Affective Neuroscience at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Charité Mitte Campus. An internationally renowned researcher, his work has contributed significantly to advances in precision psychiatry, healthcare model development and global mental health. The focus of his Einstein Professorship is the implementation of a visionary care model for mental health. Using generative AI, this will enable preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with mental health problems, and will be applied internationally. The aim is to address the growing challenges in the healthcare system, which is facing increasing demand for care, rising costs and a shortage of staff, particularly in the area of mental health.
