Between art, philosophy and architecture

Alex Arteaga has been announced Einstein Junior Fellow at the Auditory Architecture Research Unit at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2013. His research project "Architecture of Embodiment" studies the influence of architecture on the emergence of sense. How do we understand the world as a meaningful whole in everyday life?

First research results as well as information about the project are presented at www.architecture-embodiment.org. The first phase of the project "Aesthetics of Embodiment" is now coming to its end. The phase aims to clarify the core concept: sense. Artist and philosopher Arteaga attempts to define this central term of enactivism and to illustrate how certain aesthetic practices can be used methodologically in order to research this topic.

Between April and June 2015 the sub-project "transient senses" marks the transition into the second phase of the project: "Architecture of Embodiment".Transient senses will include a sound installation, several essays (sound, video, text) as well as a research seminar.

The Einstein Foundation wishes him all the best and a sound entry into the second phase of his research project.
